When you think you�ve heard it all something comes along that is so foolish the words of Psalm 15:14 seems to jump out, ". . .the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness."

Such is the "What Would Jesus Drive" campaign. . .

The "What Would Jesus Drive" nonsense is the brain-child of Jim Ball. To degrade the Lord Jesus into a environmental-wacko "car salesman" is beyond simple ignorance � it�s irreverent and it�s blasphemous.

The "WWJD" campaign is an off-shoot of the Evangelical Environmental Network (EEN) &
Creation Care Magazine. The EEN is a group of goofy, Biblical-illiterate, environmentalists who are "helping God" to preserve and protect the environment. Yeah. . . Right? I�m reminded of the Lord�s stern words to Job � "Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding (Job 38:4). Besides being as "nutty as a Christmas fruitcake" and ignorance of the scientific facts (1 Timothy 6:20), the EEN preaches the false doctrine of "Lordship salvation". They claim on their website, "EEN is a unique evangelical ministry whose purpose is to "declare the Lordship of Christ over all creation (Col. 1:15-20)."

Of course, anyone even slightly familiar with the Word of God KNOWS Satan is currently the "prince of this world" (John 12:31) and the "god of this world" (2 Corinthians 4:4). In Luke 4, where Jesus Christ battles Satan at the mount of temptation, Satan tempts the Lord Jesus by offering the Lord Jesus this world, and it's glory in exchange for His worship.

Luke 4:5-7
5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, showed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

It's worth noting, The Lord Jesus did not rebuke or question Satan's claim to the current "lordship of this earth" (hence. "worship me") or ownership of this world. This "present evil world" (Galatians 1:4) currently belongs to Satan. It is his prized possession. One day, soon, the Lord Jesus will reclaim and renew His creation (Romans 8:21-23), but presently Satan is "god of this world".

But back to the "What Would Jesus Drive" insanity. . .

The purpose of the "WWJD" campaign is to persuade Christians that Jesus Christ would drive a small, gas-efficient, lesser-polluting, environmental-friendly vehicle. (I guess the devil would drive a gas-guzzling mini-van or SUV.) The EEN website states:

"Pollution from cars hurts people and the rest of God's creation. Driving impacts human health, contributes to global warming, and increases our reliance on oil from unstable countries and environmentally sensitive areas. Making transportation choices that threaten millions of human beings violates Jesus' basic commandments: "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Mk. 12:30-31); and "Do to others as you would have them do to you" (Lk. 6:31). In making my transportation choices with the Risen Lord Jesus, I believe He wants me to travel in ways that reduce pollution and consumption of gasoline."

The EEN even asks it's readers to "make a commitment to �walk the walk and drive the talk�. Cute . . . huh? They even ask their readers to "take the What Would Jesus Drive Pledge". The "pledge" is a series of way-out, weird environmental, wacko anti-pollutant commitements.

Matthew 21:2-7
2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
3 And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,
7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.

In reality, there is no "What Would Jesus Drive" question. . . We KNOW what He "drove". He "drove" an ass! Jesus rode on a donkey. Hey Jimmie Ball and crew if you REALLY, REALLY want to "follow Jesus" . . . And you REALLY, REALLY want to "drive what Jesus Drove" . . . And you (and your environmental buds) REALLY, REALLY want to combat pollution . . . Drive a Donkey! They REALLY don't want be that scriptural. . . But that's just not sensible. People all over the world still drive animals. And guess what. . . Many of these countries that "drive" animals and have very few automobiles are some of the most polluted and environmentally devastated places in the world. Can you say Ethiopia?

And let me say something to you pastors, and bus workers that are driving all those "big ol� Satanic gas-guzzling, polluting buses" to bus those kids into church to get them saved � STOP IT! RIGHT NOW! You unloving, polluter! Don�t you know you�re polluting the environment. Forget about the souls of those kids! It�s the environment � stupid.

Remember the words of the Lord Jesus in Luke 19:10

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save "the environment".

Not hardly. . .

Hey Mr. Ball, have you ever read what the Lord Jesus did to "the environment" and the fig tree in Matthew 21 and Mark 11?

Matthew 21:19-20
19 And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.
20 And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!

In Mark 11, the Lord Jesus "cursed" the fig tree causing it to wither away and die.

Mark 11:
20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

And how about Matthew 6 (and Luke 12)? Where it states God is going to burn the lilies and the grass?

Matthew 6:28-30
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

By the way have you ever read about Noah and the flood? Talk about a "environmental disaster". Talk about "endangerment of the species". . . Or "love thy neighbor"? Now, where was the EEN during the days of Noah? The Lord drowned the whole environment -- man, beast, plants, all -- except Noah, his family and the animals Noah gathered.

And while we�re on the subject. . . What about the plagues of Egypt? The flies, the lice, the frogs, and if that wasn�t bad enough � the Lord polluted the water! He turned the precious water into blood!

Exodus 7:19-20
19 And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone.
20 And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.

And dare we forget, how that polluter Moses polluted the precious life-giving water in Exodus 32. Remember when the children of Israel rebelled against the Lord and made the golden calf. And Moses took the golden calf, burnt it in fire (smoke � pollution, EPA, EEN), ground it into powder, then threw it in the water � he polluted the water! And then Moses, the polluter, made the people drink the polluted water! Yikes! Call the EPA!

Exodus 32:20
And he [Moses] took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strowed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.

That mean �ol, polluter Moses. I bet he drove one of them "Satanic gas-hogging, carbon-monoxide-spewing" SUVs! Hmm. . . I wonder if that�s the real reason why the Lord wouldn�t let Moses go into the promised land? �Cause he was a polluter. . .? Yep. . . That was probably it.

But the "mother of all polluters" is found in Revelation. Talk about some serious polluting. . .

Revelation 8:6-12
6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

A third part of the trees, a third part of the green grass, a third part of the sea, a third part of the sea life, a third part of the rivers, a third part of the sun, the moon and the stars � polluted! An environmental disaster! Who in the world is doing this? I bet it�s those nasty Republicans! Probably George Bush. . .

In Revelation 16, an angel pollutes the sea and kills every living soul in the sea! And another angel pollutes the rivers and other waters! Who is doing this polluting?

Revelation 16:3-4
3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man; and every living soul died in the sea.
4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.

And in Revelation 9, an angel opens the bottomless pit and the smoke is so great � the sun and THE AIR were darkened by the reason of the smoke! Who is doing all this polluting? Who is destroying our environment? Quick get the EPA on the phone! Call the EEN! Call an emergency meeting of the United Nations. . . Where is Al "Ozone-man" Gore?

Revelation 9
1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.
2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

Do you who is polluting the waters, the air, and destroying the environment in Revelation?

GOD IS. . .

Revelation 6:16
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Revelation 14:19-15:1
19 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.
20 And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.
15:1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.

And I�ve got some real sad news for Jim, EEN, EPA and all the other environmentalists. Real sad news. For a final climax, do you know what God is going to do? He is going to completely burn up this "environment". . .

2 Peter 3:10-12
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Friend, Jesus Christ did not come into this world to save the environment. God Almighty is not in heaven nervously "pacing the floor" worrying about the pollution. The Lord is not in heaven "wringing His hands" over the ozone layer. Jesus Christ is not in heaven interceding for the environment and the EPA? He�s not concerned about the environment. . .

Jim and the EEN are right about one thing. This world is polluted.

And it�s polluted bad. Very, very, bad. And the pollution is very, very deadly. (In fact, "pollute" occurs 56 times in the King James Bible.)

The REAL pollution took place 6,000 years ago in the garden of Eden. When Adam and Eve rebelled against the will of God and ate the forbidden fruit � this pure, clean, sinless, earth became polluted, cursed and dirty. This earth is a cursed, polluted, corrupt environment because of the rebellion of man.

Genesis 3:17
And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

And that pollution is the entrance of sin. Not only is this earth polluted. The pollution of sin has filled every fiber and soul of man himself. Sin has polluted man like a hot knife through butter. The pollution of sin is seen in the killing and terrorism shaking our world. The pollution of sin is heard in the cries of thousands of mothers burying their children. It�s felt in the pain of young people destroying their life through sin and youthful lust. The pollution of sin is killing you. . .

When Adam and Eve sinned, they became so polluted and ashamed they hid themselves from their loving Father. The pollution of sin immediately separated the Adams from their God.

Genesis 3:8
And they [Adam and Eve] heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

Friend, the pollution of sin has also separated you and I from God our loving Father. God is a Holy and Righteous God. And the pollution of sin will not come into His presence.

Isaiah 59:1-2
Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

In fact, the pollution of sin is so bad and filthy � it could eventually cause you to be cast into a lake of fire. You and I are so polluted, a Holy Righteous God can not allow us to come in His Holy presence.

But God loves you SO much. . . More than you can even begin to conceive. He loved you SO much that He gave His only begotten Son to remove and cleanse the pollution of your sin. Jesus Christ came into this world to die on a cross, shed His precious, sinless, pure, unpolluted blood for you. . .

The pollution of your sins DEMANDS judgement before a Holy God. You and I can not POSSIBLY pass that judgement. It DEMANDED a pure, unpolluted, sinless person. . .

And there was ONLY ONE that could fill that bill. . .

". . .Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom. . . .
Job 33:24

The Lord Jesus Christ never sinned. He was unspotted. Unpolluted. Pure. Sinless. Holy. And when the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross of Calvary, my sins and your sins were placed upon Him. He paid our penalty and judgement that a Holy, Righteous God requires.

1 Peter 1:18-19
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

2 Corinthians 5:21 clearly says that Jesus Christ was pure, sinless � "who knew no sin". And Jesus was made "to be sin" FOR US! He settled the sin pollution once and for all. Not only that. . . Did you read the last part of that verse? " . . . that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." You can be as holy and righteous as God Himself � IN HIM � THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Have you ever had the pollution of your sins cleansed? Have you ever truly received the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour?
